3 WAYS TO TREAT YOURSELF THIS MOTHER'S DAY...

"Mothers are women who inhabit or perform the role of bearing some relation to their children, who may or may not be their biological off spring."
In my opinion, a mother is a source of inspiration, a role model. Someone who is always there. People always say that having a child change your life(not in a good way). you wont be able to have fun, go partying and all sorts. You will get boring ...Hmm.
Well if this is what being boring is like I'm all up for it.
Don't get me wrong it was fun to go to parties every weekend, drinking, dancing and turn up to work the next day and can barely open my eyes.. haha..But then I had my baby girl and things changed for the better. I feel like this is what I was meant to be. Motherhood is a mixture of pride and exhaustion, cuddles, kisses, chaos and worry. You stop worrying about yourself and now a child is #1 in your life. Fun is no longer about going clubbing or drinking every Friday night. Being a mom means having fun with your child/children without having a hangover.
You no longer need countless friends, because you have an unbreakable bond and a lifetime friendship .

In the UK we will be celebrating mothers day Sunday 31 March. As the day comes around, you may be expecting the typical flare.. Flowers from the partner, a card from the kids and maybe a gift certificate from the mother-in-law. lol.. But with all this, don't you think something is missing. In my opinion this is not just a day to receive gifts, why not treat ourselves... the calendar states that this is a day for mothers, we are obligated to having a awesome day.. It comes around every year to remind us that we deserve a guilt free day to self-indulge. Its like a second birthday.. haha.
Its that one day out of all 365 days that we should get the day off (although we are still on call lol).

Here are some ways to treat yourself this mother's day:

Buy those shoes...
I don't know about you guys, but my online shopping baskets are always full ..lol.. It's the easiest thing for me to click that "Add to basket" button. Even when I know I don't have the money to spend right away. But this mother's day, why not go back to that shopping basket and checkout that gorgeous pair of heels, or those cute trainers. Just something pretty that you might have been drooling over for a few weeks. I mean we deserve it right!

Go out to see a movie...
As simple as it might sound its something relaxing..I know Netflix and Chill at home can be quite comfy, but as women we feel so good about ourselves when we dress up, but some lipstick/lipgloss on get out the house a bit. Maybe you want to go with a girlfriend, and watch a new release.
Personally, I would like to go and see this new movie "What Men Want" starring Taraji P. Henson.
Maybe you could have a cocktail or two after, catch-up with your girls and have a laugh. If you get what I mean. It's just some "me time".

And last but definitely not least...
Book a massage, pedicure and manicure...
The spa is always such a great idea. Its perfect for relaxing and clearing your head. Get yourself a mani and pedi, after all its mother's day, time for someone else to take care of you. Even if you need to pay for it.. lol.. You are worth it!!
Give yourself the gift of self-care this mothers day. You care for your kids daily. Take a day and take care of YOU!
Mother's Day = Self-Care Day

If you are reading this, give yourself a pat on the back for simply being a mom and doing the best you can. Happy Mother's day to all mothers. If you are not in the UK and will be celebrating a couple weeks from now, Happy Mother's Day when it comes.
I said it already and I will say it again. Mothers are superheroes!!

Thank you guys so much for the feedback on my previous post, when I write I do so from my heart and its amazing when someone can actually relate. So again, thanks for your support oxox.

Thanks for stopping by,
Sending loads of love your way...

WHY I AM NOT READY FOR ANOTHER BABY..

When are you going for the next one(baby)?
I've been getting this question literally a couple months after having Rhea. When are we going for the second, they asked.. I remember looking at them wanting to question their sanity. That definitely wasn't the question to ask a new mom of her first child, who had sleepless nights and still trying to come to terms with the identity as a "mom". At one point I wondered if motherhood was just difficult for me, or are they just being silly and has nothing else to say.

As Rhea got older, people where still asking..(like seriously).. why is it that society feels that its not "ok" to have one child???
Anyway, I still don't know the answer to that question entirely. Some moms suggested that its better to have them all young, and allow them to grow together. It will be easier, they say. But what if you are just not ready...
I love everything about being a mom. Watching her grow into an outstanding young lady. So brilliant and smart. Its just one of the best things I've ever done.

I don't think I'm ready because I have not forgotten the emotional, physical and mental struggle. I have not forgotten the sleepless nights, the first 3 months when I felt like I was gonna die. I haven't forgotten how I broke down that one Sunday morning when I saw blood after using the toilet. I have not forgotten how worried I was when my doctor told me she was breeched. . I have not forgotten looking in the mirror and crying cause after giving birth I felt or looked nothing like myself, and wondering who is that person...And because of this.. I'm just not ready.

Some moms may not agree with me, and that's fine. Everyone's experience is different.
I enjoy feeling normal again. I've accepted and love the mom title, and everyone who knows me knows that this little girl here is my life. To know her is to love her. We are like peas in a pod haha.
Don't get me wrong there's nothing to me like a precious new born baby. They smell adorable, and to dress them in those cute onesies (omg) lol.. When they hold your finger with their tiny hands, its a blessing. But am I ready...hmm..

I know children are a blessing, and I agree, wholeheartedly. I just don't remember reading anywhere in the bible that says, since children are a blessing, every family has to look the same in numbers.
In addition, I feel like we have gotten out of the woods now from all the baby stuff and we are having more and more fun as a family. We are now both able to enjoy each others company, she now reads me bedtime stories (the sweetest little voice, I do fall asleep sometimes haha). She is my biggest motivation when it comes on to my blog, she has read every post I've made, ask about what outfit I will be wearing, how many views I had for the week. She's like my manager haha. Life is pretty calm and smoothe. I'm scared that while all that is possible with one, I can forget it with two.
I might sound selfish, but I'm just being honest. Not having family around to help when you have a new born child and be difficult and "me time" is not really possible. I need to be that fulfilled person who can be truly present when I'm with my daughter.
So to answer the question that I have been getting ever so often... Not that I wouldn't want another child.. I'm just not ready!
For now I will give all my love to my daughter and she will give me loads of cuddles and kisses in return. I love being her mom!!

To the moms with one child, you are no lesser of a mother, than one with five. And to the mothers out there with two or more kids, you are freaking superheroes.

Happy mothers day to all moms. Whether you are expecting, planning to have your first, or just showing someone else's child love. We  are all outstanding, powerful women and great role models.

Quick update, I've decided to level up my blog, somewhat.. I will be posting twice a week, Mondays and Thursdays. Well at least I'm gonna try this. There are  loads of factors that may contribute to me not being able to post on the days stated above. But for sure I will try my best, and please do subscribe so you don't miss a post.

Thanks for stopping by my loves,
sending loads of love your way ..

MY SPRING MAKEUP WISHLIST...

At the moment, I seem to be unable to stop myself from buying makeup left, right and center. I'm kind of new to this makeup thing and I think I'm at a point where I am experimenting and figuring out what for me and what isn't. however, I should say I have been working on my skincare routine as well, cause you have to apply that paint on good canvas right. And with my acne prone skin I need to exfoliate daily. So lets get back to the main topic... The beauty products I want to pick up for spring. By the way spring official starts this Wednesday. So I need to start ticking off my wishlist ..haha.. and whether this is helping or not I don't know, but I thought I would share a handful of some of the items on my wishlist.

Fenty Beauty

Pro Filt'r Instant Retouch  Concealer ( £19)I've been watching loads of videos with great MUA and I found this one that has similar complexion to mine and she has always used this concealer. Its creamy, long wear, medium to full coverage. I would say, its just what a girl needs to cover those dark circles after a long night shift or just discoloration on the skin. And the fact that I don't need to squeeze or pump to get the product out that makes it just perfect. Its like a lipgloss lol, and so easy to apply on a specific area or that tiny blemish that needs to be covered.

Fenty Beauty
Pro Filt'r Instant Retouch Setting Powder (£24)
Super fine, weightless loose setting powder. Gives you that filtered, photo ready finish look. Seriously, what girl wouldn't want that  lol.

Pixie Beauty
Rose Ceramide Cream ( £24)
Its a luxurious formula that plumps the skin and seals in moisture for long-lasting nourishment. This product is meant to preserve the complexion's youthful appearance. It also has bacteria-reducing probiotics to protect the skin.
So I absolutely love spring time. The weather is cool. Its beautiful outside, the grass is greener. You name it. But for me allergies ….allergies...allergies!!
Not only does my eyes itch and the excess sneezing, but I get itchy dry rash especially on my face, neck and arms. Hate it!! So I'm hoping that this product will be helpful to keep my face moisturized and protected for dem spring/summer allergies. Got to keep that skin glowing, allergies or not ..right.

Hydrating Milky Makeup Remover (£24)
Can be used on a daily basis. Its used to remove waterproof and long wear eye lip and face makeup. Its formulated coconut ( girl I love everything with coconut lol) probiotics and willow bark extract to help soothe, condition and moisture skin. In addition, its perfect for all skin types- even dry and sensitive skin.
Imagine removing makeup while caring for the skin at the same time. The product is a multi-tasking skin care. I think the worst part of makeup for me is removing it. Cant wait to try this product...

Powder Kiss Lipstick - Ripened(£17.50)
What can I say...It was love at first sight. It looks so soft and springy, the blush pink is so girly but yet not too overpowering. According to the website the colour is like greyed lavender.. definitely my style... Yepp!! Mac Cosmetics Here I come haha.
Pixie Beauty
Eye Reflection Shadow Palette (£24)
Soo....I'm not one to wear eye shadow, but a girl need to try out new things every now and then. Plus these colours are pretty neutral. Will just give my eyes a nice pop, if you get what I mean.. lol.
This palette has 12 beautiful colours to choose from. I will be mixing, matching and experimenting this spring. how about you, are you guys changing anything in your makeup collection for spring?

The Bling Fling 8-Piece Brush Collection(£47)
This set is now discounted on the website. however I might not get the full set. wont be using all those brushes. but the details on these are amazing, that glittery black is just perfection. A girl can treat her something to something new, black and sparkly sometimes.
So yea .. Just a few things on my makeup/beauty wishlist
Wishes do come through!!!

Thanks for stopping by loves
Sending loads of love your way...

THE GIRL BEHIND THE BLOG, FACTS ABOUT ME..

Hello there beautiful people, are you guys looking forward to spring? I know I am. But whenever I take out a spring inspired outfit either its start to rain or snow or too windy... This weather is something else. I had a difficult time taking these pics because the wind wouldn't allow me to be great. So apologies for the messy hair.
So if you follow me on Instagram, you may have noticed that I stated in one of my recent post that this month is all about you guys getting to know me a little better, hence this blog topic. If you do have any questions about me after please don't deter from doing so in the comments section below.

So here goes... fun facts about Patrice:
  • My biggest dream is to be a motivational speaker for teenagers and women who struggle with self acceptance, emotional and physical abuse etc. This is one of the main reasons I started this blog… to motivate, inspire and build confidence.
  • I am most commonly known as Crissy.
  • My biggest motivation is my daughter.
  • I love chocolate, my favourite is Raffaello
  • My favourite Tv Show is Vampire Diaries
  • Favourite movie. They are so many, but I would say Burlesque.. staring Christina Aguilera
  • One of my biggest pet peeves is, food not arranged properly on a plate. I eat with my eyes, so no matter how nice the food is I wont enjoy it if it's not presented properly.
  • I appreciate people and good friendship, once my intuition tells me your toxic I'm going to draw that line.
  • I'm not scared of people to dislike me. Everyone has a right to their prospective. Why am I being nice...truth is I just don't care.
  •  I am super kind, I would give my last to someone and do without. Oh.. and I give the best gifts lol
  • I love dancing, been dancing since I know myself. Not sure if I am able to do the latest moves haha.. but I promise one day I will try and make a video for you guys to have a laugh.

So yea.. this is me!!
This is the shortest post I've ever written, but I hope you enjoyed. please share below some of your favourites, and ask whatever you would like to know about me.
Thanks for stopping by... Good night and good morning.
